Find A Friend
You can do almost anything online these days. You can buy stuff, do banking transaction, talk to people thousands of miles away and even find a friend!
Yeah, gone are the days when you have to hang around in one singles bar after another to find a “potential” partner. Gone are the days when you have to join and be active in one social group after another just to meet new people and make friends.
Now, you can do it in the comfort of your own home, online. I just joined FriendFinder, one of the largest social networking site on the net.
Joining is easy. All you have to do is, provide some personal info, select a user name, answer some questions about your self (like where you live, your occupation, height, weight, education level, etc). You can choose not to answer these question by choosing the “Prefer Not To Tell” option. So, you only divulge what you want to. After completing the registration form, a password will be sent to your email (So make sure you enter a valid email when prompted).
Now, this is where things get more excited!
I logged in to my account and spent some time to get myself familiarized with the site menus and navigation. The site is well structured; the menu is organized in a comprehensive style. You can navigate from one menu to another fluidly.
The “Search/Browse” menu provides an extensive style of finding new people. You can search by browsing the database, or ask FriendFinder to find you a match! You can also see who’s currently online (a little more than 2000 members right now!). If you want to hook up with super hoties, check out the “most popular members” section. You can even search for members in certain geographical boundaries, like looking for a friend near your home, for instance.
Being a relatively shy person, I find it very hard to start a conversation with a stranger. So even if I do sometimes get active in social-networking groups and events, I usually end up not getting to know anyone. So, I’ve been using online social-networking services for some times now. I find it easier to open up myself in the comfort of my own home. Only after getting to know and sort of breaking the ice with the person on the other hand, do I attempt on meeting in real world. Its easier that way and more fun too.
I’ve joined many social-networking sites, but I can say FriendFinder is definitely one of the better; at least its FREE version is one of the better sites. The site is user-friendly and the shear number of people already joined gives you better choice of potential friends!
